Associated had built a successful company by establishing a large and loyal customer base through outside sales and personal relationships. After a competitive analysis, it was discovered that their major competitors had established a strong online presence that could eventually erode their customer base and commoditize many of their offerings.

A communications audit also revealed a lack of awareness in certain market segments of their product and service offerings.
